First Eucharist at St. Mary's

We will continue to use the book and video clips from Dynamic Catholic called “Blessed – First Communion”. You can find all of the clips on the Dynamic Catholic website - www.dynamiccatholic.com/blessed.html. Families may want to check them out or if your child misses a class – families may want to watch the clips together.

As part of the preparation for your child to receive the Eucharist for the first time – we strongly encourage families to attend Mass frequently – whether it is here at St. Mary’s Parish or another parish that fits your family’s schedule. If we are being completely honest – we should all be able to go to Mass regularly. There are Masses on Saturday evenings – Sunday Mornings – and at many parishes in the area there is a Sunday evening option.

St. Mary’s Parish – Franklin:
Saturday at 4:00pm
Sunday at 7:30am and 10:30am

This year we are going to offer a two-hour retreat for both the Sacrament of Reconciliation (January) and the Sacrament of the Eucharist (just before April Vacation) for every child and at least one parent/guardian. We are hoping and praying that each of these retreats will be a great way for families to experience the joys and love of the Sacraments and ease the anxiety for everyone.

The Sacrament of Eucharist Retreats will be on:

  • Saturday, April 11 from 10:00am-12:00pm
  • Sunday, April 12 from 12:30-2:30pm

They will both be held in Sacred Heart Hall (lower church). We ask that every family sign up for one retreat by March 15. Here is the Doodle Poll link:

First Eucharist celebrations will be on Saturday, May 2. Times to be announced just after the holidays.

This year – we will assign the times by classes and not by the alphabet. We understand that some families may need to switch the time and we will do our best to accommodate everyone’s request.
