The Knights of Columbus are the largest distributors of charity in the world. Anyone in need can call upon the Knights for assistance.
The Knights at St. Mary’s serve the community of Franklin. Meetings are held twice monthly in the Sacred Heart Hall.

The Knights of Columbus is proudly sponsoring a Memorial Day Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Mon, May 29 at 9:00am. Please bring Lawn chairs for comfort. If it rains, Mass will be held in the Chapel.

The Robert Simmler PGK, Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council #1847 Scholarship
Due Date: Must be postmarked Friday, March 24, 2023
Application Requirements:
- Applicant must be a registered member of St. Mary’s Parish in Franklin.
- Applicant must be graduating from High School in the spring, 2023 and progressing on to their 1st year of study at a 2 or 4-year college/university.
- Applicant must submit a completed scholarship application, with required attachments as indicated below, postmarked on or before the application deadline of Friday, March 24,2023
- The Scholarship will be awarded based on the following three pillars:
- Charity – How has the student given freely of his/her time and talent to the parish, school and community?
- Unity – How has the student stayed connected and active in his/her Parish Family?
- Discipleship – How has the student lived out Jesus’ call to be Brothers and Sisters in Christ?
There will be two scholarships awarded a $3000 and a $1000. These awards will be given to the recipient upon completion of their 1st semester of studies and upon proof of enrollment in the 2nd semester. We will be awarding 2 Scholarships. The top ranking finalist will receive the $3000.00 award.

Scholarship Winners
The Knights of Columbus 1847 Franklin are proud to announce the winners of this year’s Robert Simmler PGK, Sacred Heart Council 1847 College Scholarship 2022. Congratulations to Alex Lomberto (pictured L) awarded $3000 and William Olbrys (pictured R) awarded $1000. Alex is a graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School and William from Franklin High School. Both of these accomplished students are active members of the St Mary’s Parish Community. Their achievements were especially noteworthy amongst the many wonderful talented candidates that applied for the 2022 scholarship award. We wish Alex the best of luck as he goes onto Fairfield University in the fall and William will attend University of New Hampshire in the fall. The Robert Simmler PGK Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council Scholarship is named in honor of Mr. Robert Simmler, he was a very active and accomplished member of the Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Council, and the Franklin Community .
