Music Ministry

St. Mary’s is blessed with wonderful volunteers who serve as Music Ministers:

Cantors:

The Parish Leaders of Song are usually called forth from one of the choirs, and are trained in the Liturgy and Psalmody. Their role is to support and encourage the sung worship of the Assembly, as are the following choirs:

Adult Choir:

This is a traditional choir for adults in the parish, singing in four-part harmony. Psalmody, hymn-singing, and anthems are explored, as are various vocal techniques and music reading. The Adult Choir ministers at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Liturgy, as well as various Holy Days and Sacramental Liturgies.

Meeting days and times:

Adult Choir rehearses Thursday evenings from 7:30–9:00 p.m. in the choir loft and ministers at the 10:30 Sunday Liturgy, as well as various additional services from September to May.

Time commitment for a member:

1-1 ½ hours of weekly rehearsal, attendance at weekly Mass

Who is eligible to join:

Anyone who likes to sing is invited to join one of the choirs. An audition may be required for placement purposes. No experience is required! Just a love of God and a desire to share the gift of music with others.

Music Director:
