Children's Liturgy of the Word

Number of Members
approximately 15

Children are invited to the sacristy during the Liturgy of the Word (leaving after the opening prayer, returning after the Creed) to hear the Word proclaimed at their level during the 9:00 Sunday Mass.

The Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLW) volunteers help the children experience the gospel message as either a reader or presenter. Readers, using the Children's Lectionary, read the first reading, responsorial Psalm and Gospel. The presenter then delivers a 5-8 minute child-focused homily prepared using a resource packet provided in advance of the Mass. The program is designed for children ages 5-10 but all children and adults are welcome.
