Arise Together in Christ

Gracious God and Father,
we enter into your presence
realizing you know us
better than we know ourselves.
You know the cares and sufferings
we carry in our hearts.

You call us to holiness
and we trust you to lead us together
on our journey
to be a renewed Church,
for with you all things are possible.

Create us anew
in Jesus Christ your Son.
Liberate us
From all that keeps us from you.
Heal us
From every form of sin and violence.

Transform us
To live your Word more profoundly.
Awaken us to the sacred;
rebuild trust among us.
Enliven our parishes;
reunite our families.

May your Holy Spirit empower us
to live as a community of love,
freed to share in your work
of recreating our world
and restoring justice.

We believe you are
doing something new,
calling us to arise together in Christ
to celebrate the fullness of Life.

Amen

Arise

Let us celebrate the success of our Arise Together in Christ

ARISE Together in Christ offers a parish-centered process of spiritual renewal and evangelization that enables people to deepen their faith, develop a closer relationship with Christ, grow in community, and reach out in service to others.

Final Session of Arise

It may be that you would like to join one of the small faith-sharing “ARISE: Together in Christ” groups but have this one obstacle: “Where will I ever find time in my schedule to add something new?”

That is no small challenge! In fact, for many of us it would be impossible to “add-on” anything; our schedule is crammed and we are doing the best we can to keep a balance of family, friends, work, community, church. Maybe instead of “adding-on”, we could re-think, re-vision, or re-shape some of the time we have already carved out to include a small faith sharing group in our lives.

What if, say, we (adults or teens) took our Friday nights out and changed the dinner and a movie idea to pizza with friends (existing or yet-to-made) and time for the ARISE process? Or, for those who are freer during the day while the kids are at school, maybe we could take the time we’ve set aside for catching up with friends to include ARISE. If we have pre-schoolers at home, perhaps we could take advantage of the baby-sitter, offered by Arise, and give ourselves the gift of an ARISE group. If we have an exercise routine with others, could we refashion it to include an hour of ARISE with our exercise buddies?

Is it possible that a book club become an ARISE group just for 6 weeks? Is ARISE a way to commit to the “more family time” we hope for with siblings, cousins, aunts or uncles? Have you hoped for a way to spend more time with the homebound elderly but have never found the right “vehicle”? When you serve meals in the shelters, could you spend another hour there to lead an ARISE group?

You have to find a way to fit in Arise because this is your last chance to experience what everyone in the parish is talking about. This session is the last session in our three year program. This is your last chance!

You may register on line, or on Sign Up Sunday, the weekend of September 18-19.
